Public Relations Management Flashcards

Marketing40 Questions and AnswersFreeUpdated Sep 2026

Public relations management is the discipline of planning, carrying out and evaluating communication between an organization and the groups whose opinions and actions affect its success. This set of flashcards introduces the core ideas a student needs, beginning with the purpose and history of the field, then moving through stakeholder analysis, research and planning, messaging and channel choice, and finally measurement, crisis response and professional ethics. Each group starts with foundational concepts and builds toward applied situations, so later cards assume the vocabulary introduced earlier.

Study by reading the question first and trying to state the answer aloud before turning the card over. Many terms in public relations sound similar, such as publics, audiences and stakeholders, so pay attention to the distinctions the answers draw. Review the cards in order within each group, then mix groups together and quiz yourself on scenarios. Concepts are easier to remember when you connect them to a real organization you already know, such as a school, employer or local business, and ask how its messages reach different groups. Return to difficult cards after a day or two, since spaced review builds lasting recall.
